More on our work

Friends play an invaluable part

The League of Friends plays an invaluable rôle in providing extras for patients at Sevenoaks Hospital. Our aim is to ensure the very highest healthcare standards are available locally. You can learn all about us and our invaluable work in our new leaflet. Why not join us? See PDF

With major projects we need help from the whole community. Our last major appeal was to provide a new hydrotherapy pool where we raised £220,000 of the £330,000 cost. Our aim now is to build on the wealth of improvements recently made at the hospital. During the last few years we have provided significant sums to make life easier and more comfortable for patients and staff. Projects include:-

• Televisions that all patients can watch free of charge

• Reminiscence Interactive Therapy and Activities (RITA) system providing digital help for patients with dementi

• Equipment for the wound clinic

• Helping refurbish the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU)

• Electric beds to provide increased comfort and mobility

• Scanning equipment

• Chairs, portering and blood testing equipment

• Rehabilitation and lifting equipment

• Newspapers for daily interest

• Little extras which make life better for patients and staff

We now we need to replenish our reserves for future projects. Please do download one of our membership leaflets to find out more about donating, joining us or volunteering. PDF
