Enjoy our friendly tea room

Our tearoom is thriving since it reopened after the pandemic with a  facelift including colourful dementia-friendly murals. Opening hours are 10am to 4pm Mondays Thursdays and 10am to 1pm on Fridays.

Please do visit our friendly hub where you can enjoy a refreshments when visiting the hospital for appointments. We sell a range of soft drinks plus snacks with healthy options. You will find a variety hot and cold drinks including various types of tea, coffee, cappuccino, sandwiches and Bovril on sale as well as packet soup. Snacks include healthy options, croissants, chocolate, bakewell tart and eccles cakes.

Our volunteers have undertaken food hygiene training and the café has been awarded a five star rating. You can also enjoy a friendly chat when you come to see us in the outpatients building or are visiting the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) or the ward.

This is a major fundraiser for us and all profits go to the League of Friends. Over the years we’ve raised many thousands of pounds. Come along and choose a second-hand book too. We also sell a good range of very reasonably priced greetings cards which are always very popular and our new card display rack helps show them off!

At Christmas we offer a very colourful and popular range of cards so please look out for them as we will be selling them again soon! Last year our tearoom volunteers manned a popular and successful pop-up stand in the outpatients car park.

Our shop is at the front of the outpatients department and a warm welcome will await you when you visit. The café

been closed for two-and-a-half years and we are truly delighted to welcome everybody back!

Chairman Ian Philip said: "Patients, visitors and staff can purchase hot and cold drinks and snacks as well as greetings cards and second hand books. It is a friendly environment where customers can sit and chat, especially when waiting for transport after their appointment."

Rotary Club Charitable Gift presentation in Café

A £500 donation from Edenbridge and Westerham Rotary Club was made in the tearooms as part of the proceeds from the group’s annual Churchill dinner. President Colin Ullmann-Jones said: “Sir Winston was an Honorary member of Westerham Rotary Club and the annual dinner is held in his honour. When Westerham Rotary Club and Edenbridge Rotary Club formed a new joint club we decided to keep on the tradition As with most Rotary activities it is a fundraising event. At the recent dinner we raised in excess of £2000”.

The cheque was presented by Colin to Chairman Ian Philip (left) in the tea room. Ian said: "Patients, visitors and staff can purchase hot and cold drinks and snacks as well as greetings cards and second hand books. It is a friendly environment where customers can sit and chat, especially when waiting for transport after their appointment." You can read more about the café and our various other projects below! New paragraph

Can you help by volunteering to serve our popular refreshments?

The tearoom is staffed entirely by volunteers and now we are open again we do need new  volunteers  help in this worthwhile rôle. Why not become part of our experienced team and help run this much-needed facility for patients, visitors and staff?

Some new helpers have already joined since we restarted and are enjoying the work. We provide training and new volunteers can join existing ones to learn how we operate. There is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and you can have the opportunity to chat to customers.

Opening hours are 10am to 4pm Mondays to Thursdays and 10am to 1pm Fridays. Full or half shifts will be available on the longer opening days.
