Special clinic heals wounds

Making a difference at new wound centre

Sevenoaks Hospital League of Friends is delighted with the success of the new wound centre. The Friends donated £13,000 to provide the latest equipment including specialist chairs, couches and trolleys.

It is proving invaluable for providing specialist care for patients with wounds. They include leg ulcers and other injuries such as burns and pressure sores which have not healed.

Chairman Ian Philip said: “I am delighted as it is a great use of our funds. The size of the project makes it feel we can make a real difference to bring something to Sevenoaks which really helps the community.”

The centre in the day hospital is run by specialist nurses and patients speak very highly of its work and the real difference it had made it helping their wounds heal.
